KidSport BC receives generous donation

On January 14, 2010 Sport BC’s Executive Vice-President, Rick Christiaanse, attended the annual British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association dinner in Harrison Hot Springs to accept a generous donation on behalf of KidSport, made by the Recreation Foundation of British Columbia.

Over 80 of the Province’s parks and recreation administers were in attendance as Bob Kusch, Chair of The Recreation Foundation of British Columbia presented a cheque in the amount of $10,000.

The Foundation’s primary purpose is to raise funds for non-profit organizations in British Columbia that are active in the area of parks, recreation, culture and health.

KidSport, established by Sport BC in 1993, is a community based sport-funding program that provides grants for children aged 6 – 18 to participate in a sport season of their choice. With the help from dedicated organizations like the Recreation Foundation of BC, KidSport works to fulfill its mission of eliminating the financial barriers to sport participation, ‘So ALL Kids Can Play!’
